The Journey from Standard ADSL to Superfast Broadband: HELM, Doncaster

14 October 2015

Doncaster based business, HELM, join an ever growing collective of South Yorkshire business to upgrade to superfast broadband with the assistance of the connection vouchers scheme. 800 SME’s have benefitted in South Yorkshire to date; claiming £1m worth of support, which is excellent news and has given the whole region a massive boost.

HELM is a supportive work space for early stage businesses, start ups and entrepreneurs. At the heart of the 2,500 square feet workspace is a collaborative and innovative environment – helping start up/early stage businesses create their best work.

Based within a former wheelchair storage facility in the grounds of St Catherine’s Hospital, KAT Communications helped to upgrade HELM’s basic connection to superfast fibre whilst providing additional business connectivity support and advice also.

Liam Swift, Co-Founder of HELM, noted that; "HELM could only become a reality following the upgrade to a connection appropriate for multiple business users in one space; and has made it possible to now realise our vision".

KAT Communications, also a locally based business in Doncaster pride themselves on being seen as different to the 'typical' telecom company. Taking time getting to know their customers and to understand their business, recommending solutions that can help them realise their business goals.

Anthony Temperton, Managing Director at KAT Communications, was delighted that KAT could assist HELM; "I love what they are doing here at HELM and it’s great that the connection upgrade can now act a platform here for accessing further digital services such as Video Conferencing, Cloud Storage & VoIP."
